The situation

Saying yes to everything — until something has to give

Michelle was doing what great founders do — saying yes, moving fast, and building the business with everything she had. New clients, existing client management, quality assurance, content production, analysis, finances, and now two new people on the team. All at once.

But when you are responsible for everything, something has to give. With so much pulling her in different directions, she found it difficult to properly onboard the new team members, delegate with confidence, or make the most of the talent right in front of her. The team had energy and drive — it just needed direction.

Getting everyone honest in the same room

In three hours, Torun and I ran a Lightning Decision Jam with the full team — the founder and both new team members. The goal wasn't to create a plan. It was to get everyone honest about what wasn't working, and leave with concrete actions that had owners — things that could move that same day.

Founders rarely hear the full picture from their team — not because people are hiding things, but because the right structure isn't there to surface them. Three hours in the right room changes that.

The same afternoon, two decisions from the session were put into practice. Give the new team members more responsibility. Bring them into client meetings from day one.
