Owner

Sport1 is one of the leading sport equipment companies in Norway. They have physical shops, which are owned and run by local business owners in every nook and corner of Norway. They have an e-commerce site run from the headquarters but connected with the local stores.

Brief

Some of the local Sport1 stores started to create websites with e-commerce outside of Sport1.no. Sport1 HQ wanted to make their e-commerce solution more engaging for the local stores by improving the local stores’ presentation and the usability and the functionality more relevant local products. The goal is to eventually incorporate all 200 stores on sport1.no as e-commerce sites within sport1.no. The first step was to make the local page more attractive and engaging by allowing the stores to have more images, content, items and campaigns.

Result

The client was not looking for a redesign, so the solution had to be solved within the existing brand, technical and design options. The design, therefore, was based on already existing components and technical specifications. The local stores now have the opportunity to log in to Episerver and their local page. Here they can add their images, content, campaigns, items from their store to make it relevant for uses checking out their local page.

Find Store overview

From the Google Analytics report, we could see that users rarely clicked on the stores’ cards. We added a “VISIT STORE” button on each card. Along with an improved search field to the left with filters making it easier to specify the search. The new local overview page allowed the local store to add own content that would lead the users to article pages with more information, shown in the example above.

The landing page has flexible modules that can be moved around to suit the local store’s preference or communication needs.
